How to cite

The licence is CC BY 4.0, so you may use this data for anything at all, including commercially, on one condition: say where it came from. A citation in a paper, a credit line on a chart or a link in a README all satisfy it.

Suggested citation

Cite the version you actually used. Releases are immutable, so v2.0 today and v2.0 in ten years are the same bytes, which is the entire point of numbering them.

DOI

Pending. Each release gets its own DOI through Zenodo, which mirrors the files at CERN so the citation survives this site. Until one is minted, cite the release version and the URL. The DOI appears here and in the release's manifest.json the day it is registered, and adding it changes no data file.

What attribution should say

Name the dataset and the version, and link the domain. If you are crediting a chart rather than writing a paper, "Data: bitcoinpricedata.com v2.0, CC BY 4.0" under the figure is enough.

If your work depends on the order book depth columns, please also read the methodology and say which era's definition you used. Each era computes depth over a different window, and a reader cannot tell from the column name alone.
